Introduction to PSpice for Electric Circuits by James W Nilsson
Computer tools can assist students in the learning process by providing a visual representation of a circuit’s behavior, validating a calculated solution, reducing the computational burden of more complex circuits, and iterating toward a desired solution using parameter variation. This computational support is often invaluable in the design process. Updated for PSpice using OrCAD release 10.5, this manual focuses on three things: - Learning to draw and simulate linear circuits using PSpice - Constructing circuit models of basic devices such as op amps - Learning to challenge computer output data as a means of reinforcing confidence in simulation PSpice software may be used to solve many of Nilsson & Riedel’s Electric Circuits, 8e Assessment Problems and Chapter Problems but the manual was designed as a supplement to stand on its own as an instructional unit.Professor JAMES W NILSSON spent 39 years at Iowa State University. He has been a visiting lecturer at Notre Dame, California Polytechnic in San Luis Obispo, and the United States Air Force Academy since leaving from Iowa State. He co-authored (together with R.G. Brown, John Wiley & Sons, Introduction to Linear Systems Analysis. Introduction to Circuits, Instrumentation, and Electronics (Harcourt Brae and World, 1968) was his first book.
In 1968, Professor Nilsson earned the Standard Oil Distinguished Teacher Award, in 1992, the IEEE Undergraduate Teaching Award, and in 1995, the McGraw-Hill Jacob Millman Award. He was designated a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 1990. SUSAN A. SUSAN A. SUSAN A. SUSAN A Since 1981, RIEDEL has been a member of Marquette University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
She also has a clinical research appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and spent the 1989-90 academic year as a Fulbright Scholar visiting professor in the Bioengineering Unit at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. She has received two honors for teaching excellence at Marquette, as well as an award from the Chicago Unit of the Shriner's Hospitals for her research achievements.
