Is it Me? by Sir Terry Wogan Obe
Terry Wogan is one of the best known broadcasters in Britain, with a hugely successful career in both radio and television. Here, he brings to the reader a wry take on everyday life, mixed with a self-deprecating humour, as he describes his whole life, both personal and professional.Terry Wogan is a Limerick native who attended Crescent College. Terry worked in finance after graduating from college and then joined Radio Telefis Eirann as a newsreader/announcer five years later. Terry moved into light entertainment as a disc jockey and host of TV quiz and variety programs, and in 1969 he filled in for Jimmy Young on BBC Radio 1 and 2. In that year, he was handed his own daily shows on BBC Radio 1 and 2. He took over the renowned morning show slot in 1972, and things have been going bad since then. Terry's long list of television credits includes WOGAN, SONGS FOR EUROPE, THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST, COME DANCING, and BLANKETY BLANK, to name a few.
Terry returned to BBC Radio 2 in 1993 to host WAKE UP TO WOGAN, the UK's most popular breakfast show. In 2005, Her Majesty the Queen awarded him a knighthood in a moment of weakness. He is married to Lady Helen, the current Mrs Wogan, and they have two sons and a daughter. Visit http://www.terrywogan.com/ and follow him on Twitter at https://twitter.com/terry_wogan.
