Full colour illustrations, and a list of questions at the back of the book to help children heal their grief process using creative activities. Isaac is heartbroken when his best friend Freddie dies. His house freezes, and his red jumper turns grey with grief. His friends try to console him but it's only after Isaac receives a special visit from Freddie that he understands love and friendship last forever, and are alive in spirit. Isaac and the Red Jumper will appeal to anyone who is bereaved, and is looking for a creative way to heal.
Amanda Seyderhelm, BA, PG Diploma Play Therapy is a PTUK Certified Play Therapist and Great Ormond Street Hospital Team Leader and Ambassador. She provides CPD training in the role of therapeutic storytelling in childhood development, which can be used for professional registration requirements across a range of disciplines. Amanda works with children aged 4 to 12 years of age at The Broad Street Practice helping them to deal with trauma, loss, bereavement and change through play therapy.
Amanda Seyderhelm is an experienced play therapist and enables affected children to make sense of their feelings and to find a comfortable way to express themselves and their worries through their natural language of play.
She can be found in her Stamford practice where she offers one-to-one sessions, and at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children where is an ambassador. She is also the resident play therapist at the Faculty of The Child and Family Practice, London, a centre of excellence for child and family mental health. Amanda has a BA degree in English Literature and Social Anthropology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy and a post-graduate certificate in systemic approaches to treatingindividuals, families and organisatons from The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. She is a member of Play Therapy UK and The Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice.
