Ise Jingu the Origins of Japan by Miori Inata
The complete photo book of Ise Jingu with description details re-edited by an American editor and an English designer. Ise Jingu is a shinto shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. Amaterasu is mythologically said to be the ascendant of the Japanese imperial family and the creator of the universe. Photographer Miori Inata has been taking photos of the shrine for more than 10 years. She added the description on the origins of Japan as an author for people overseas, which illustrates ancient Japanese philosophies of reincarnation and symbiosis.
Inata, Miori: - Miori Inata graduated from Tama Art University in Tokyo, with a major in oil painting. She taught fine arts for a number of years in Tokyo before relocating to New York in 1991. After taking a photography course at Southampton University, she began her career with camera, focusing on the people of New York and the city's culture.
