Isms by Shelley Tobin
A highly illustrated guide to the history of Western fashion from the 17th century up to the present. As with other books in this series, there is a two-page spread for each movement (ism) on which there are two large images plus a description of the main characteristics of clothing styles at that time, names of makers or sub-styles, and places where you can view samples of the costumes. There is also a chronology of the various styles.
'..this illustrated guide to major movements in dress over four centuries is a great starting point for students and lovers of fashion.' West Australian (January 2010) 'a superb book for the student of fashion or the budding designer.' karenplatt.co.uk
