Issigonis by Gillian Bardsley
Sir Alec Issigonis lived his life in parallel with the rise and decline of the British motor industry, becoming its first and only celebrity. He was the designer of the Morris Minor and the Mini, two of the most important British car designs of the 20th century. Gillian Bardsley tells his story.
Gillian Bardsley studied history and social anthropology at Edinburgh University. Now Senior Archivist for the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, and an acknowledged expert on Issigonis, she has catalogued and researched the Trust's large Issigonis Collection, interviewing many of his colleagues, family and friends.
