She cofounded Beyond Hunger, Inc., a nonprofit that provides support and education for teens and adults with anorexia nervosa, bulimia, and other eating disorders. With Laurelee Roark, Normandi is coauthor of two books, It's Not About Food: Ending Your Obsession with Food and Weight and Over It: A Teen's Guide to Getting Beyond Obsessions with Food and Weight. Laurelee Roark is a cofounder of Beyond Hunger, Inc., a nonprofit that provides support and education for teens and adults with anorexia nervosa, bulimia, and other eating disorders. For more than 20 years, Roark has facilitated support groups, led workshops, and given talks about eating disorders. She is coauthor with Carol E.
