Introduced in 1961 it was Jaguar's most numerically successful sports car until production ceased in 1974.Jonathan Wood, the author of thirty-five volumes on the history of motoring, has focused on the histories of Britain's diverse vehicle manufacturers. He has received the Montagu Trophy from the Guild of Motoring Journalists and the Cugnot Prize from the Society of Automotive Historians.
