James to Jude by Francis Moloney Sdb
These seven letters towards the end of the New Testament are a diverse collection, addressed by their writers to widely scattered groups and individuals. They cover topics that range from the meaning of authentic Christian living (as distinct from following Jewish cultural norms), to encouraging perseverance among believers suffering persecution from the authorities. Above all, the writers seek to clarify what is true and what is false teaching - and to instruct the young Church as to how to tell the difference. The People's Bible Commentary (PBC) is designed for all those who want to study the scriptures in a way that will warm the heart as well as instruct the mind.
Francis J. Moloney, SDB (DPhil, University of Oxford), is Senior Professorial Fellow at Australian Catholic University, Melbourne. He formerly served as dean of the School of Theology and Religious Studies at Catholic University of America and as provincial superior of the Salesians of Don Bosco for Australia and the Pacific region. He is the author of many books.
