She cofounded Actus Tragicus, an independent publishing business for alternative comic artists, and has gained great acclaim for her work both in Israel and abroad, including Eisner, Ignatz, and Angoulême award nominations. Modan currently lives in UK with her family after teaching comics and illustration at Jerusalem's Bezalel School of Art and Design.
