Jem is bored. He is spending his holidays with his grandfather in a cottage in Readymoney Cove as his parents are working.He finds a book about pirates and sets off in his boat, dressed up as a pirate, to have an adventure himself.The adventure nearly ends in catastrophe but Jem saves the day and is presented with a medal in the Town Square.Set in Fowey, children will enjoy recognising Tom's Boatyard in Polruan, the harbourmaster's steps in Fowey and the Town Square where Jem is presented with his medal.Readymoney Cove, the setting for grandfather's cottage is a great beach for children and families and has a scenic walk up to St Catherine's castle.
