JIM HALL was born in western Kentucky in 1947. He attended Eckerd College in Florida, where he studied with Peter Meinke. He earned his M.A. from Johns Hopkins University and his Ph.D. from the University of Utah. He has published three books of poetry previously, two with Carnegie Mellon University Press: The Lady from the Dark Green Hills and The Mating Reflex. His poems have appeared in such magazines as Antioch Review, Poetry, Georgia Review, North American Review and American Scholar. He has also published short stories in Iowa Review, Missouri Review, Carolina Quarterly, The Georgia Review and other magazines. Hall was a Fulbright Professor in Bilbao, Spain, in 1979-80. He teaches at Florida International University in Miami and lives in Key Largo.
