Jonathan Richardson (1667-1745) was one of 18th-century England's most significant cultural figures. At the age of 61, shortly before his retirement, Richardson began to create a remarkable series of self-portrait drawings. Not intended for public display, these were unguarded explorations of his own character.

Susan Owens is a Professorial Fellow of Newnham College and a Professor of Environment and Policy at the University of Cambridge's Department of Geography. Her research focuses on environmental governance, with a focus on the role of knowledge, ideas, and expertise in policy development and transformation. She is a member of the Royal Society's Science Policy Advisory Group (2008-13) and a Fellow of the British Academy and the Academy of Social Sciences. From 1998 to 2008, she was a member of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution. She received an OBE in 1998 and an Honorary Degree from Stockholm's Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).
