Sjøvaag has published extensively in international journals, including Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly; Media, Culture & Society; Journalism Studies; Convergence; and Journal of Media Business Studies. Sjøvaag’s most recent book is the co-edited anthology Journalism Re-examined: Digital Challenges and Professional Reorientations: Lessons from Northern Europe.
