Lenerd Louw holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and law, an LLB and a master’s degree in business administration. He is an admitted Advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa and was the CEO and founder of two highly successful insurance companies, 1st for Women, the first insurance brand for women only, and 1LifeDirect, the first direct life insurer in South Africa. As CEO, he was also the spokesperson for the businesses and often took the brokers and traditional insurers head on in TV and radio debates and in print and digital media. He has also held senior positions in the UK and South Africa at a large international insurance group, including Strategic Innovations Director, Marketing Director, Founder and Head of the in-house advertising agency and Senior Manager Operations.
