Jumping Mouse by Brian Patten

This Native American folk tale tells how a little mouse had the courage to leave his family's warm nest in the roots of a giant tree, and go in search of the Sacred Mountains. He has many adventures on the way and finds his true name of Jumping Mouse. He makes friends with a racoon, frog, buffalo and wolf, whilst taking care not to be caught by the Spots circling watchfully above in the sky.
Dauk, Violet M.: - Violet has been a fine art painter for 35 years. She attended an art college, School of the Associated Arts, on Summit Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she majored in fine art painting. People comment that Violet‛s paintings stir emotions and that her animal drawings have attitude that bring smiles to their faces. Violet grew up on a small dairy farm near Randolph, Minnesota, about 30 miles south of the Twin Cities. Presently, she works out of her home studio in New London, Minnesota. She is married to a pastor, and they have two adult children. Art is, and has always been, a part of who she is. She feels her work is her ministry.
