Jungfrau And Other Short Stories by Various

The Caine prize is Africa's leading literary prize and is awarded to a short story by an African writer published in English. Each year, the winning story (Jungfrau by Mary Watson from South Africa is the 2007 winner) and the short listed entries are collected and published in one volume. This is a diverse and stimulating collection from some of Africa's best writers.

Mary Watson studied Cinema and TV Production at Bristol University in the United Kingdom and received her Master's degree in Creative Writing from André P Brink in 2001. She teaches Film Studies at the University of Cape Town, where her collection of short tales, Moss, won a Distinguished Publication Award. Her debut novel is now in the works.
