Just Missed Harley Street - Memories of a General Practitioner by James Carne
The author looks back over a lifetime, over half of which has been spent as a medical practitioner. Part biographical, part educational and part anecdotal, it gives some insight into the emotional ups and downs of a professional and private career. From childhood, through studenthood and professional career and finally retirement, the book describes, in both serious and light-hearted vein, a full and rewarding life. About the Author: James Carne was born in London and has lived there most of his life. He qualified as a doctor in 1952, at a time when the National Health Service was emerging as a major force, and, after a period in the RAF, practiced in Hackney, London, for over 40 years. He was a part time academic in the Department of General Practice at St Bartholomew's Hospital, and Queen Mary College, London. He is also a Fellow of the Expert Witness Institute and Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.| SKU | Unavailable |
