Working as a teacher, and then a headteacher, youre never sure of what each day is going to bring. When the day gives you lines like Theres a wasp in my trousers or I wish I was a bird, so I could poo on people, the poet inside grabs them and wont let go until a poem has been written.
Duncan Thompson has been teaching children since the 1990's. He has always loved sharing poetry with children, helping them to write their own, and occasionally writing his own. Now having built up a collection of these humorous poems he has decided it is time to publish them.
