Stella Gurney lives in south London with her husband and two sons. She has worked in children's publishing as both a copywriter and an editor and now writes full time. This is her second Walker Story – her first was My Dad, the Hero, illustrated by Katharine McEwen.

Petr Horacek is a graphic designer, illustrator and painter. He is the author of the Books for Children Newcomer Award-winning Strawberries Are Red (9780744575767) and What Is Black and White? (9780744575774), as well as Silly Suzy Goose (9781406304589) and Leon Spreads His Wings, a Walker Story about a boy who is scared of flying (9781406307153).
