The Kazillion Wish by Nick Place

...there was a slight pfff sound and a burst of light shot out of Ainsley's clasped hand. Instead of a dandelion, a fairy-like creature hovered over her palms. She was brilliantly gold and about as tall as a fizzy-drink can. Her wings were fluttering so fast they could barely see them. Harlan gasped and Ainsley smiled. The flying creature said, 'So, you need a wish, huh?' Ainsley and Harian Banana have a down-to-earth problem - their dad is seriously lonely. Fortunately they do have a solution, just not a simple one. What they need is an also-mum! According to the calculations of Zootfrog the frongle (not ever to be confused with a fairy!), theirs is a Kazillion Wish - one of the biggest, most hard-to-earn there is. They face a thrilling, out-of-this-world quest. Their only guide is the crazy Zucchini Spacestation - and he doesn't always have their safety at heart! But they have a great and noble cause, and help comes from unexpected allies - including a dashing boy superhero and purple Martian twins with a need for speed!

Ross Collins lives in Glasgow, Scotland. He is the highly acclaimed illustrator of many books for children.
