Killing Napoleon by Jonathan North

An amazing story that is still largely unknown in the English-speaking world - the plot to blow up Napoleon, an early terrorist attack on Europe's most powerful man, with striking parallels to today.
'I thought that ‘Killing Napoleon’ was an interesting and entertaining read that sheds light on an important moment in the history of Napoleonic France' -- Adventures in Historyland, May 2019
'I recommend North’s book to anyone keen to gain a better understanding of life in Paris in 1800, particularly with regard to policing and intelligence-gathering. It could provide a rich source of plot ideas for historical novels.' -- Regency History, Review by Andrew Knowles, February 2019
Jonathan North's degree focused on Italian history and he has spent much of his life studying the era from 1789 to 1815. This has led to a dozen books on the period, including: With Napoleon in Russia (Greenhill), Nelson at Naples, and Killing Napoleon (Amberley). As well as many years’ experience writing and translating, he has spent some of his career as a commissioning editor of modern history. The author's website is www.jpnorth.co.uk
