Derek Wilson is best known for his historical works of non-fiction, biography, and fiction. He graduated from Peterhouse, Cambridge, and subsequently was awarded the university's Archbishop Cranmer Prize for postgraduate research. A varied career in the sixties and seventies involved considerable travel and work as an antiques dealer, broadcaster, and teacher. He has written over 50 critically acclaimed books and has written and presented numerous programmes for radio and television.
He works from his homes in North Devon and Normandy, and is married with three grown-up children.
