Walter Tevis was an English literature professor at the University of Ohio who is most known for three of his books, The Man Who Came to Earth, The Hustler, and The Color of Money, all of which were adapted into blockbuster films. He also wrote The Steps of the Sun, which was published just before his death in 1984.
