When King Midas is granted a wish from the god Dionysus, he knows just what to choose: everything he touches to turn to gold. But that's just when all his troubles start...
Julia Jarman was born on March 28th 1946. After studying English and Drama at Manchester University, she became a teacher. Her three children encouraged her to write for them, "about real characters like us". The girls asked for "lots of scary bits". Her three cats were also an influence and inspired her Time Travelling Cat series. Julia has been writing for over fifteen years. She has written ten novels and over seventy shorter books, including The Sewer Sleuth and Convict in the Victorian Sparks series. Julia keeps in touch with readers through her numerous visits to schools and libraries where she enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for facts and fiction.
