New perspectives on major events emerge from a study of their impact on these individuals, for personal experience is central to history, and these are lives from "the troubles" - one of the key periods of Scottish history.
David Stevenson is Professor Emeritus of Scottish History at the University of St Andrews and the author of numerous books, including the standard two-volume history of the Covenanters.
