Duncan is a fantasy fiction author who creates worlds influenced by Renaissance Europe in his novels and short stories. He holds a Master's degree in history and specializes in the medieval and Renaissance periods. He doesn't reside in a particularly exotic location, and when he's not writing, he likes to cycle, ski, and windsurf. 'The Tattered Banner (Society of the Sword Volume 1),' his debut novel, was ranked 8th on Buzzfeed's list of the 12 Best Fantasy Novels of the Year in 2013.
