Looking first at God's dealings with the Israelites beginning in Exodus, chapter 19, we can see four levels of intimacy that we can choose to have with God. Moses went alone to the top of the mountain where others could also ascend to be near Him. The borders coincided with their corresponding level of maturity and commitment to pursue Him.
