Lucía lleva diez años con Ramón. Sus vidas transcurren sin pasiones ni tropiezos, hasta el día en que deciden pasar el fin de año en Viena y Ramón desaparece en el aeropuerto. Lucía and Ramón have lived 10 bland and uneventful years as a married couple until the day they decide to spend New Year's in Vienna and Ramón disappears at the airport. With the help of Adrián, a strange-ish young man, and of Fortuna, the anarchist, former matador and hit man for Durruit Fortuna, Lucía will search for her husband. What may seem to as a dramatic situation becomes an opportunity to live life to the fullest and to find a balance within the passing of time. Premio Primavera 1997.

Rosa Montero was born in Madrid and studied Periodism and Psychology. Cronica del desamor (1979), La funcion Delta (1981), Te tratare como a reina (1983), Amado Amo (1988), Temblor (1990), Belle y Oscura (1993), La hija del canibal (1997, Premio Primavera de Novela), El corazon del Tartaro (2001), Framio Roman Primeur (2006), Framio Roman Primeur (2007), Framio Roman Comic (2011; Premio al Mejor Comic 2011 por votacion popular en el Salon International del Comic de Barcelona), La ridicula idea de never volver a ver (2013; Premio de la Critica de Madrid 2014), El peso del corazon (2015), and La carne (2016) are some of his works. He has also published a collection of short stories, Amantes y Enemigos (Alfaguara, 1998; Premio Circulo de Criticos de Chile 1999), as well as two biographies, Historias de Mujeres y Pasiones, and children's stories, as well as interviews and articles. Since the end of 1976, she has worked exclusively for the newspaper El Pais, where she was the chief editor of the daily supplement from 1980 to 1981.

He won the Premio Mundi de Entrevistas in 1978, the Premio Nacional de Periodismo para reportajes y articulos literarios in 1980, the Premio de la Asociacion de la Prensa de Madrid a toda una life professional in 2005, and the Premio Nacional de las Letras in 2017. Su obra has been translated into more than twenty languages, and she has received honorary doctorates from the University of Puerto Rico and the International Columnists of the World Award in 2014.
