The Last Pilot by Benjamin Johncock
1960s America and the space race is underway. Jim Harrison is a test pilot in the United States Air Force. He spends his days in a precarious dance with death above the clouds and his nights at Pancho's bar. After suffering the loss of a child, Jim seizes an opportunity to train as an astronaut, a job he throws himself into to the detriment of his marriage. Set against the backdrop of one of the most exciting and emotionally charged periods in American history, The Last Pilot is a breathtaking story.
