Left behind in a city filled with Taliban fighters and seeking extraction, this is his dramatic story.

‘HCollins’s personal account of his time in the line of fire also tells the story of the West’s war on terror. From the battlefields of Iraq to the chaos of the scramble to leave Afghanistan, Collins gives gripping first-hand testimony of a Royal Marine Commando performing his duty in the face of terrifying odds . . . hard to put down'

* Robert Verkaik, author of Jihadi John: The Making of a Terrorist *
H. Collins served as a Royal Marine in 40 Commando. He later worked in Iraq as a security contractor, where he spent five years in the 'Triangle of Death', and Afghanistan; he was in Fallujah in 2005, and Ramadi until 2010. In 2014, he found himself back in Kabul, working with civilian security contractors responsible for the diplomatic security of the Japanese Embassy. He was there in 2021 when one of the largest ever airlift evacuations took place from Kabul.
