Mike Tomkie tells the story of his life in a remote Highland lochside cottage where he lived alone for 20 years without electricity, gas, telephone or postal service, studying the wildlife.Mike Tomkies was a renowned naturalist, writer, and Hollywood film journalist who spent 35 years living in remote and wild locations around Scotland, Canada, and Spain. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland appointed him an Honorary Fellow in 1988. He wrote a two-volume autobiography as well as a number of best-selling nature books. In 2016, he passed away.
