William Stewart is civil litigation partner with MacMillans solicitors in Glasgow, and was formerly senior lecturer in law at Strathclyde University. He is the author of the Scottish Contemporary Judicial Dictionary, the Law of Restitution in Scotland and a number of books on compensation law. He is the book review editor of the Scots Law Times, a regional editor of the Restitution Law Review and editor of the Reparation Bulletin. He's edited a sports law book and written on Skiing and the Law, and among his professional interests is adjudication for the Scottish Premier (Soccer) League and the Scottish Football (Soccer) Association. He's married with one child and in his spare time he plays the violin very badly.
