Lawmen of the Old West: The Good Guys by Del Cain
Many of the well-known lawmen of the old west were as crooked as the men they went after. The men portrayed in this book, while less well known today, were good and honorable men. They are men that, in today's confusing world, can be held up as role models. The book is well written, in a style crafted to attract the mainstream reader.
Del Cain is the author of two non-fiction books, Lawmen of the Old West: The Good Guys, and Lawmen of the Old West: The Bad Guys as well as a book of poetry, Songs on the Prairie Wind, published by Words and Music Press. He has had poems and stories in various journals and anthologies. There is also a book of character poems telling the traditional Christmas story and soon to be another poetry book drawn from memories and reports concerning the Woodward, Oklahoma tornado of 1947. Del is a life member of DFW Writer's Workshop and a long time participant, past featured reader and current board member at the Austin International Poetry Festival. When not working on his own writing he teaches workshops and edits books on contract. He is the worst guitar player, the backup bass player, and only harmonica and mandolin player in the band, Common Folk. He lives and writes in Texas with his wife, Isabel and a silly dog. Neither of them are convinced by his argument that sitting staring out the window is working.
