Laying a Watercolour Wash (SBSLA06) by Frank Halliday
Using over 70 step-by-step photographs and a variety of inspirational paintings, Frank Halliday shows how to paint washes and how to use them to create atmosphere, tone, form and shape. Skies, landscapes and waterscapes can all be washed on to the paper and the merging colours allowed to run into each other to create sunsets, mountains, distant mists, fields, rivers, seas and reflections. Practical advice is given on the materials you need, how to start, using a limited palette, composition and perspective. Whatever your skill level, you will be able to develop your own style with this invaluable book.
