Learning Good Consent by Cindy Crabb
Choose any progressive organisation or radical milieu today and you'll likely find an ongoing debate about sexual harassment, sexual assault, accountability processes, the building of 'safer spaces' for victims, and related issues. That's the world Cindy Crabb emerged from several years ago with two important interventions: zines that became important guides to navigating troubled waters. Adapted and expanded from these two popular zines, Learning Good Consent is an indispensable guide to both preventing sexual abuse and helping its survivors to heal.Cindy Crabb is the creator of Doris, a feminist and autobiographical zine that has been collected into two books: The Encyclopedia of Doris: Tales, Essays, and Interviews (Doris Press, 2011) and Doris: An Anthology 1991-2001 (Microcosm Publishing, 2004). She has spoken at the Radcliffe/Harvard Schlesinger Library, Pratt University, Evergreen State University, The New School for Social Research, New Paltz, and the Guelph Resource Centre for Gender Empowerment and Diversity as a college-sponsored speaker in the United States and Canada. Her sister, two miniature horses, sheep, dogs, and a cat live with her in Rutland, Ohio.
