David O'Leary was born in May 1958. As a player, he played 719 games for Arsenal as a centre-back - a club record - and made 68 appearances for the Republic of Ireland. In October 1998, he succeeded George Graham as manager of Leeds United, since when he has guided the club to the Champions League semi-finals and top of the Premiership.
