Legends on Tour by Martin Creasy

This book covers the phenomenon of the 1960s pop package tours. With access to an incredible unpublished archive of material held by the Aldershot News covering the 1960s cinema tour gigs in Aldershot, journalist Martin Creasy looks at concerts between 1965 and 1967 including the famous Jimi Hendrix/Cat Stevens/Walker Bros/Engelbert Humperdink tour. It includes interviews with fans, promoters, drivers and with many of the stars themselves, such as Helen Shapiro, Gene Pitney, Reg Presley and Engelbert Humperdink. This is a valuable record of a frenetic time when many people did not realise how special the performances, and these amazing photographs, really were.
