Professor Paul W. Darst received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Akron and his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. He is currently a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Arizona State University. In his career, he has served as a secondary school teacher, a high school coach, a college teacher and coach, and as a university professor and researcher. He has done numerous presentations for teachers on new ideas for middle and high school physical education. Dr. Darst's current research interests have focused primarily on fitness routines and activities for middle school students. He has written and edited 10 textbooks and more than 50 research/professional journal articles. Darst is a co-author with Robert Pangrazi on the popular textbook Dynamic Physical Education for Secondary School Students, now in its fourth edition.
