LETTERS OF PEACE PB by Morrrell Jill

This is a selection of the best letters from the 1994 Royal Mail Young Letterwriters competition, all inspired by the word "peace". The letters reflect the variety of subjects children associate with this word. Some of the writers imagine themselves in another century, with one letter written from Charles I to Oliver Cromwell begging for an end to the bloody Civil War. Others comment on the situation in Bosnia, or other warring countries, whilst some describe peaceful places they have visited. The letters are accompanied by paintings and photographs by art students from the Royal College of Art, Central St. Martins College of Art, Camberwell College of Art and Kingston College of Art.
