that person needed those parts of you for their healing, for their path, for their becoming, for their comfort
and that is a very noble thing to do in life
we are not walking in isolation, we are walking together- we borrow some parts of each other for what lies ahead or to heal from what was done to us
and you, my dear Goddess you have divine ability to give away some parts of yourself only to grow more beautiful sum of you further - only to become softer kinder and stronger-
the parts you gave away of you were not yours to keep- they were the reason for your being here
because in the end, we all are here for each other - so please do not mourn what all you gave away what was not yours to keep and bask in the glory of how much more you can be and how great it feels to fulfill why you are here

Dr. Nivedita Lakhera is a poet & artist by soul. She heals body via medicine & soul with balm of words and art. She was born and raised in New Delhi, India. Growing up in a very loving and supportive family she walked with fairy tales in her feet. But her otherwise beautiful life was jolted and derailed by a stroke at the young age of 27, a divorce, and then a heart break. She turned to words and colors to rescue her soul. And oh yes, they did rescue her. And now she wants to share them with everyone. Pillow of Dreams is her first poetry book. She sincerely believes beyond realms of time, classes, opinions, births, and religion that all of us are connected by common threads of love, losses, joys, sorrows, betrayal, support, and friendship. And so a poem, a verse, a phrase becomes a temple where anyone and everyone can visit and submit their soul to rest for a little bit before embarking on the next journey, before the next destination, before the next turn. A retreat and oasis of belonging and familiarity... that all hearts beat the same! She is an medical doctor of Internal Medicine and serves as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at St. Mary's Medical Center, San Francisco, CA. Her other passion includes use of technology to solve real time problems in healthcare. She is developing a telemedicine and universal electronic medical records (EMR) platform for Syrian refugee camps, acute disaster situations, and remote areas in developing countries.
