Gordon Henry is a professor of English and the director of the Native American Center at Michigan State University's Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources. His poetry and stories have appeared in magazines and collections such as The Black Warrior Review, Mid-American Review, Tales Moving Home, and North Dakota Quarterly, among others. His first novel, The Light People, won the American Book Award in 1995.
