Ronda Armitage was born in Kaikoura, New Zealand. Her first book was published in 1977, and she has gone on to write many bestselling books for children, including the much-loved Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch series. Ronda lives in East Sussex with her husband.

Arthur Robins is known and loved the world over for his lively picture books and cartoons. He has illustrated numerous and much-loved books for Orchard, including the popular Seriously Silly series, written by Laurence Anholt, and the picture book Itsy-Bitsy House, which was shortlisted for the Stockport Children's Book Award in 2005.
