Literacy by Margaret Jackson
First published in 1993, this book is concerned with ‘Literacy’ – the interconnection between literacy and oracy is recognized and stressed but the focus is literacy.
The author considers the context of literacy learning and the social construction of literacy within classrooms in relation to all primary ages. It is not a handbook on “how to do it” but rather aims to demonstrate how teachers can deal with the perennial questions and issues in literacy learning.
