A Little Book on Finding Your Way by Francis Richard Briers
This is a book about finding your path through life by practising something you really love with your whole heart and soul. In ancient Japan they had the Way of the sword, the Way of flower arranging, the Way archery, the Way of tea making. In the modern world why not have the Way of cake baking? Or The Way of accountancy? Making something a Way heightens it from being just something you do, to being a meditation practice and path of self development. This book sets out the principles for how to make anything you love doing into a Way.
Francis Briers first fell in love with writing when he was 6 and insisted on staying writing until he was done one day at the end of school. He has adventured through many paths since including training as an actor, becoming a black belt martial artist, working as a chocolatier, being ordained as an Interfaith Minister and becoming intrigued with organisations and working as a facilitator and consultant. Through all of this runs a deep abiding fascination with human beings - how we see the world, relate to one another, form communities, and find belonging and purpose in the world. He now spends his time helping people and organisations learn about embodiment, leadership, compassion, sustainability, and personal and spiritual growth. He writes because he loves making books and wants to contribute to making the world a better place. He lives with his wife and son in East Grinstead in the UK, happily sitting writing in his shed with a view of lots of trees.
