Jean Tymms was born in South London during The Second World War. Now retired, she has previously worked in accountancy, nursing, and has a passion for spiritual healing. Her previous book, The Ramblings of a Little Lost Soul was published by Matador (2016). The Little Boy Who Just Loved Tractors was inspired by her great grandchild.
