Elizabeth Laird is the multi-award-winning author of several much-loved children's books, including The Garbage King, The Prince Who Walked with Lions and The Fastest Boy in the World. Her 2017 novel, Welcome to Nowhere, was published to huge critical acclaim and was shortlisted for the Scottish Teenage Book Prize, as well as the Books Are My Bag Young Adult Award.
