Little Snow Bear by Hazel Lincoln
Little Snow Bear is born at the top of the world in a land of snow and ice. He lives with his mother in a deep, warm cave. Winter comes and the sun disappears for long periods of time. What if it never comes back, Little Snow Bear wonders? He sets out on a journey to find the sun, and along the way encounters the Northern Lights, Wise Old Caribou, Baby Seal and Blue Whale. Beautiful watercolour paintings, both gentle and dramatic, bring this enchanting story to life.
'This is a beautifully illustrated simple story of a very lovable snow bearThis is a book for reading aloud to either nursery or pre-schoolers. The illustrations are stunning, and there is a clever use of watercolour shading to give us the ice blue, white and lilac shadows of a frozen, but not harsh, landscape. An artistic masterpiece. It is definitely a 'feel-good' book and the mother/baby bond is strong.' -- Janette Perkins, School Librarian, Summer 2005
Hazel Lincoln began her career in illustration as an apprentice in a greetings card studio. She now works from her home in Leicestershire as a professional illustrator and is the mother of three children. This is her first picture book for children.
