Living with Max by Sandy Lewis
Describes having a child with Down's Syndrome as both the best and the worst thing that ever happened to her. The author chronicles the highs and lows of bringing up her son, Max: his amazing ability to light up a room with his smile; his energetic exuberance and love of life; and the struggles she has faced in raising her son.
"This is a delightful book about a funny, adorable boy" -- Judi Dench "Living with Max is a loving book, and Max really deserves to enjoy his precious life" -- Lynda La Plante "[Sandy Lewis] tells the extraordinary story of a boy who overcame incredible odds and bitter prejudice to achieve his dreams" Daily Mail "To know Max is to be capsized by his intelligence and by his mature sense of self; and he knows who he is" -- Richard Eyre, Director Of 'notes On A Scandal' "Working with Max was a lovely and funny time - if only I hadn't introduced tickling!" -- Bill Nighy
