This text aims to provide a series of research syntheses, reports and results combined with practitioner examples, leading practice and reflections to identify the state of the key issues in retail logistics management in the late 1990s. The early chapters establish the background to the transformation of retail logistics in Britain in the 1990s and the internationalization of retailing and its impact upon logistics strategy is also discussed.
John Fernie is Professor of Retailing and Logistics at the University of Stirling, and Director for the Institute of Retail Studies. An active member of both the Institute of Logistics and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, he edits the International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management - Leigh Sparks is Professor of Retail Studies and Dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of Stirling. He is the co-editor of the International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research.
